While some rug cleaning facilities prefer to wash all area rugs the same by using an automated, batch washing tub, every rug trusted to Oriental Rug Salon is washed by hand, one at a time, under the watchful eye of experienced artisans.
In batch rug cleaning plants, the only thing an operator has to know is how to load rugs in a washtub and push a button. All rugs are cleaned the same. Antiques are mixed in with knock-off nylon rugs. Rugs that contain blood or pet urine are washed with non-contaminated rugs, etc. The technician has little to no experience in rug identification or what to do if something goes wrong during the cleaning process.
