Oriental and Persian Rugs with water damage:
As much water as possible should be extracted on site. DO NOT ROLL THE RUG AS THIS WILL LIKELY CAUSE DYES TO BLEED THROUGHOUT, possibly making it impossible to salvage.
Do not hang the wet rug over a rail etc. as this can also increase the water damage. Call Oriental Rug Salon for advice.
Oriental and Persian Rugs with smoke damage:
Place the rug on a plastic sheet while rolling up and securing. Call Oriental Rug Salon for pick up and proper restoration. DO NOT LEAVE THE RUG ROLLED UP FOR MORE THAN 5 DAYS or permanent odor can result.
Wool and silk area rugs should NEVER be cleaned by a carpet cleaning or restoration company who are not certified and experienced in area rug restoration. Too often we’ve seen these companies ruin a beautiful area rug because they lacked the experience to clean valuable textiles.
