Each area rug is thoroughly inspected, and if necessary, the colors are set so they do not bleed during the thoroughly exhaustive hand washing process.
Most area rugs are entirely submerged in a cold bath using the appropriate cleaning solutions. Each side of the area rug is washed, and then pH conditioned rinsed. Area rugs are cleaned one at a time, by hand to ensure each rug receives the individualized attention it deserves.

THE ART OF THE HAND RUG WASH
Hand washing precious wool or silk area rugs is a delicate process that should only be performed by experienced professionals. We use a specially prepared natural shampoo that won’t damage your Oriental rug. Our hand washing technique, using gentle agitation, coupled with allergen-free cleaning solutions are designed to deliver the cleanest clean possible. Because we clean area rugs one at a time, our technician’s full focus is on providing a quality cleaning for every rug.
Once the area rug is thoroughly washed, it is placed on an air table to dry. Final inspection follows, and the rug is prepared to return home.
